Umpires for Europe

Two representatives from Gibraltar Hockey have attended the Umpires for Europe (U4E) course.

Zamara Espinosa and Brian Buckley attended the course in Breda, Netherlands with over 90 other officials from European countries.  U4E is a two year programme, aimed at promising young umpires, umpires who have already been members of the U4E Programme, and umpires who would like to be nominated for UDP.

During this practical weekend U4E members have umpired a number of games in the prestigious Push Hockey Trophy, which attracts some of the best Under 18 and Under 16 teams from Belgium and The Netherlands. The weekend will also include presentations from respected umpires and UMs, one-to-one coaching with mentors, and each umpire will also receive a personal video of their umpiring, with coach commentary.
