GHA U16

A new Gibraltar U16 girls' squad faced a visiting team from Ireland this afternoon. An older squad of girls from St Raphael's College, Dublin, were held to a 0-0 draw after three quarters of the match. The match had so far been played end to end with the Gibraltar girls slowly beginning to link well with each other. With nothing left to lose in the remaining quarter, the local girls turned up the pressure, made the secure passes and found the back of the net three times thanks to Bossano, Jaques and Vanlier. Credit must be given to an up and coming young squad for holding their own and coming out with a victory. A lot of talented youngsters bodes well for the future of girls' hockey.
